Decide Ahead of Time

But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. Luke 21:14

How much time do we waste worrying about how can defend our faith? I hear it all the time: "I'm so afraid I won't know what to say!" In our anxiety, opportunities are missed to share the truth of Jesus with those around us. We shut down any chance of being a witness by avoiding those situations that may require us to testify.

So what can I do? How can I overcome fear and anxiety to become salt and light to the world?

Jesus said to decide ahead of time not to worry. He didn't say to decide how we might avoid awkward situations; He expects us to face them.

Lord, help me to set my heart on You and not on the worries of this world. I may not know what to say if I am challenged, but You do. You promise that You will give me the words I need.

Be glorified in all I say and do!
