Holiness - to be set apart from the rest of the world - this is what God asks of us. Can we ever get there?
There are so many things in life that make our hearts unclean. Praise God, the blood of His Son can make us clean.
Lord, this challenge of being holy because You are holy is sometimes too great to bear. How do I keep it balanced? How do I seek holiness through what I do without making my action a god in itself? The Israelites eventually turned the Law into the focus, and they forgot You. As a Christian, I struggle with turning completely away from the Law to Your grace. Even Paul said Your grace is not a license to sin.
Help me to live a balanced life - one that is balanced by Your grace and my obedience. I love You, Lord. Help me to be holy as You are holy.
