He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him. Psalm 126:6
There is a saying that there are no atheists in foxholes. I believe it could also be said, "There are no atheists on the farm."
Oh, I'm not so naive to believe there are none, but for every drop of sweat in the field, my guess is there is probably a corresponding prayer in the bedroom. Farming is not an easy job. Oftentimes, it requires more faith than work. Great perseverance is needed to make it till harvest time.
Lord, to reap a harvest requires so much effort and so much prayer. Show me where to plant seeds of faith and hope for those who are hurting. Give me the perseverance to make it till harvest time. Give me the faith of a farmer. Let me carry sheaves with songs of joy in my mouth.
