Nothing built by human hands will last. Only what the Lord builds can live beyond the limits of time.
So why do we spend so much time and effort trying to fix ourselves?
I believe God wants us to seek holiness, but all our efforts to attain righteousness won't build anything that we can carry with us into eternity. The only things we can bring into heaven are those which were built into us by the Holy Spirit. He does the work! He's waiting for us to ask Him. He won't intrude, and He will never deny.
Father, will You build into me eternal character that I can carry into heaven - that I can carry today? Thank You for making me the man I am.
