Waiting with Expectation

I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope. Psalm 130:5

There is a big difference between simply waiting and waiting with expectation. I spend a great deal of time waiting for the Lord, but am I expecting He will come? Or am I merely holding off in the pursuit of what I want, so I can say I waited for Him?

To wait with hope - to wait with expectation - is to believe something is going to occur. Unfortunately, I don't think I always believe He will appear. In my impatience, I seem to race ahead. I may have a clear sense of direction, but I won't get where He wants me without Him.

Lord, help me to wait with expectation. Meet me when I call. Walk with me. I believe You are coming.
