Prepare a Room

And one thing more: Prepare a guest room for me, because I hope to be restored to you in answer to your prayers. Philemon 22

Paul was in prison when he penned the book of Philemon. But in typical fashion, Paul was filled with hope. His physical circumstances rarely seemed to dissuade him from believing God was completely in control and caring for him every moment. Despite his chains, Paul asked Philemon to get the guest room ready for a visit.

I wonder if Philemon's guest room was used by Paul again. Even if it wasn't, I'm sure Paul's faith was unshaken.

Lord, help me to see beyond the circumstance of today into the bright future of Your design. The chains of work and debt so often keep me from believing in tomorrow. Give me a faith that rises above the stress and anxiety. Give me eyes that can see the path - eyes that can see the goal. I want to go where You lead. Show me Your way, and I will follow.

And prepare a room for me.
