Drifting to the One Percent

We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. Hebrews 2:1

Why is it so easy to drift away from what is really important? There is so much more to life than material things, but we find ourselves easily drawn to them. Time with family and friends is so easily replaced by commitments and the pursuit of more.

I heard an interesting statistic - that forty percent of the wealth in America belongs to one percent of the population. One percent! Yet we are raising up a generation of children who find personal worth in things!

ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of us have the opportunity to live eternal life with the Creator of all things, but most people pursue what is only available to one percent. What will become of the one percent when life is finished? In truth, things give us the illusion that we don't need God. No wonder it is so easy to drift away. Most cannot see God in anything, so what draws them? Only what is seen.

Lord, help me to see You. Help me to put my trust in You. Save the lost.
